My Spring Must Have: White Denim

I drooled the entire time I thumbed through Esquire’s spring/summer 2011 Big Black Book. There are so many spring/summer must-haves that I simply…must have!

Wing Tip Shoes
Linen Jackets
Canvas Bags
Tortoise Shell Shades
Colored Chinos

*Sigh*

But the number one thing on my spring must-have list: white denim.

I know. The mere mention of the words can be a bit off-putting. I imagine wine spilling on them during dinner. Or coming home with a dingy ass at the end of the day from sitting on filthy subway seats.

But there are some perks to rocking white jeans: they go with practically everything, and you can easily dress them up and down. But no matter how you decide to rock them, they always give your look a fresh, clean finish that blends well with everything from light, airy hues to woodsy palettes.

I wouldn’t mind rocking mine with a pair of my desert boots like so.

JCrew does a great job of showcasing how easy it is to pull together a white denim look.

While those looks are great and definitely hit the mark, I’d abandon the neutral tones and pair my white denim with a vibrant polo shirt like this joint by Paul Smith.
Or dress them up with a tie, blazer, poplin and casual shoe. This look is clean, timeless, season appropriate – and a good option for the office or a night out on the town.
Think you’re brave enough to venture into the world of white denim? Here are four options I think are worth purchasing.

  • I think it's dope when a man can pull off a pair of white denim!

Me too! I've got my eye on those white joints by Joe's. His jeans compliment my figure. LOL

  • I hate white denim. I never go to "all white parties". I applaud your aspiration

LOL. I dig white denim. White parties? I never been to one. Not that I can remember, anyway. And I think it's because I don't like when someone tells me what I HAVE to wear in order to attend their event. The themes folks have begun to come up with are laugh out loud funny and ridiculous!
